Backup Systems
Data backup is a very important part of everyday computing but is often overlooked. A system failure can be devastating to a user that is not properly backed up. Data like personal photos, email and documents can be lost forever. Imagine losing all the photos you have taken with your digital camera, or important business emails and documents.
Data is stored on the computers hard drive which has tiny parts that move at very high speeds. Like anything mechanical it can fail at anytime sometimes losing all the data on the drive. To avoid losing important data, a solid backup system should be in place for anyone who saves anything important on the PC.
There are several different methods of backup and Computer Help can assist you in selecting the one that works best for you.
File backup
File backup involves backing up important files to a secondary location like an external hard drive, CD or DVD, or an online location. File backup can be done manually but a file backup software can save you time and hassle. Software can be setup to backup data any time you specify and email you the results of the backup.
System Backup
System backup goes one step further than file backup as it backs up your files as well as your system settings and programs. If your system were to fai,l your entire operating system and applications could be recovered as well as your data files. System backup software can also be setup to backup data any time you specify and email you the results of the backup.
Each system has its advantages and disadvantages and Computer Help can work with you to decide what will work best.
